Simulan Mo Sa Straw (SMS2) or Start With The Straw

It all started with not using straws.  So I decided to launch my page in 2011 with this logo which tells Simulan Mo Sa Straw (SMS2) in Filipino or Start With The Straw (SWTS) in English.  I did it with my daughter, Neah, then and it was during her candidacy as Miss Holy Angel University.  I composed a jingle for SMS2 then and it was sung by her. The lyrics goes like this:

Hindi ka ba nababahala sa dami ng mga basura

(Aren't you getting bothered by so much garbage)

Na unti-unting sumisira kung saan ka nakatira?

(which gradually destroys the place where you live?)

 Refrain:

Kung  mahal mo ang bayan mo, bawasan ang basura mo.

(If you love your country, reduce your trash.)

Simulan mo ito sa di paggamit ng straw. 

(You can start this by not using straw.)

Simulan mo na sa araw na ito saan ka man sa dako ng mundo

(Start today wherever you are in the world)

Ang pagbawas ng basura mo'y pagliligtas sa anak ng anak mo.

 (To reduce you trash is to save the children of your children.)

Sa bawat pag-inom mo sana ay lagi mong maaalala

(I hope you remember everytime you drink)

Na may kapangyarihan ka na magbawas ng 'yong basura.

(That you have the power to reduce your garbage.
